David and Jenny Lynn Anderson
Play: Born to be a Cowboy
David and Jenny Lynn Anderson are a father, daughter duo from Harrisville, Utah, and music has always been a part of their lives.
David started his musical endeavors as a drummer, but when his father asked him to jockey race horses he traded his drums for a guitar because the drums couldn’t be packed in the horse trailer. Since his teenage years David has continued to play and use his talent to cultivate his love of western music.
Jenny has grown up with music being a huge part of her life, from old time country to classic show tunes; she loves it all. She has had several opportunities to sing all over with her dad. She was awarded the Sunrider Award for outstanding youth achievement by the Cowboy Poets of Idaho, and released her first album titled, “One of the Boys” that represents her desire to follow the footsteps of her many heroes like Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn.
David is the President of the Western Music Association, Utah Chapter and he loves to share his music with anyone who will listen. David has entertained audiences all across the Western United States at county fairs, festivals, parties and assisted living centers. He has acquired several awards including Male Vocalist of the Year for the Utah chapter of the WMA, and the Golden Note award from Cowboy Poets of Idaho. He has also been nominated for Songwriter of the Year and Song of the Year for the WMA.
When the two are not singing, David is a professional Zamboni driver and Jenny attends Weber State University in pursuit of a history degree. They also enjoy riding horses and spending time with the rest of the family.
