Doug Keller grew up on a ranch near Zion Canyon in southern Utah. For several years he owned a dude string [a string of horses for taking folks on horse rides] near the Grand Canyon. He has written Cowboy Poetry for at least 35 years and in 2012 published a book called Sons of the Land Poems of the West. Doug is also a Silver Buckle winnert the National Cowboy Poetry Rodeo. He is currently the Cowboy Pot Laurite of Kane County, Utah. He has written, directed and produced melodramas at the Old Barn Playhouse and at the Crescent Moon Theater in Kanab. He lives with his beautiful wife Penny at Johnson Canyon on a small spread which is 18 miles northeast of Kanab, Utah.
