Skylar was born to Greg and Lori Harwood in beautiful central Utah. He first sparked an interest in cowboy poetry at a young age from reading his dad’s cowboy poetry books. He has always had a love for auctioneering, horse breaking, shoeing horses, and rodeo. In his younger years if he wasn’t at a rodeo or galloping race horses at the track, he was fighting bulls and wrangling dudes down in Bryce Utah.
Today he is still wrangling dudes in Bryce Utah but in a different manner as a state trooper for the Utah Highway Patrol. Now instead of getting to share his quick wit and quirky personality out on the trail he shares it out on the highway.
Skylar’s main passion in life is spending time with his wife Brandi and their two boys. They enjoy riding horses as a family and watching there boy’s mutton bust in rodeos. Many of his poems are sparked from real life experiences that he has encountered throughout his years.
